AUGUST MEETING

The August meeting of the Hobby Greenhouse Club will be on Tuesday, August 12th, at 7:30 PM at the NHC Arboretum, 6206 Oleander Drive.

SPEAKER

The speaker for August is David Strickland of Witherspoon Roses. The topic is "Growing Roses in Seatheastern North Carolina".

HELP
HELP--The FALL Plant Sale is being held on Sept. 5th and 6th. Help is needed on the Cleanup of Metts Av. garden, and the the cash register during the sale. Sign up sheets will be available during the next meeting; if you cannot attend the next meeting, but would like to help for the sale or the cleanuup, plese send an e-mail to Don Butzin (show Co-Chairman) at butzinds@earthlink.net.

CLUB INFORMATION

There will be a brief meeting after the presentation to discuss appointing a nominating committee for Club officers for next year, a possible dues increase and a vote on the location of the next potluck on September 13th (either Metts Av. or Arboretuem).

SHARING

The plant "sharing" at the end of our meetings has proven very popular. If you have any plants, cuttings, bulbs, seeds, roots, or anything else garden related even old magazines or catalogs, bring them to the meeting and set them on the table in the back of the room to share with other club members. This will allow you to purge some of your extra stock and allow other people to increase the diversity of their plants. Do not be hesitant to take some things even if you have nothing to share at this time.
