The August Hobby Greenhouse Club Meeting will be Tuesday August 10, 2010 at 7:30PM at the New Hanover County Arboretum auditorium (6206 Oleander Drive Wilmington NC 28403).
Our speaker will be Ken Wells, Comsumer Horticultural agent at the Nc Cooperative Extension. Ken will give a presentation entitled "Fall Gardening... Veggies Are About to Get a Lot Easier." If you have had about enought of the heat and the bugs, try fall gardening. Many of the garden favorites we love to eat grow wonderfully in the late summer and fall in our Cape Fear area.

Hospice Offers Workshop to Create a Memorial Garden
Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center and the New Hanover Country Arboretum Ability Garden present "Creating a Memorial Garden", a workshop for grieving people. Time: 9AM to Noon. SHARING
The plant "sharing" at the end of our meetings has proven very popular. If you have any plants, cuttings, bulbs, seeds, roots, or anything else garden related even old magazines or catalogs, bring them to the meeting and set them on the table in the back of the room to share with other club members. This will allow you to purge some of your extra stock and allow other people to increase the diversity of their plants.
